Better Way Loan ("we", "us") is committed to handling your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you choose to give us — name, email, mobile, the suburbs, budget, timeframe and anything you write in your message.
- Optional account details if you create a free account (email, password stored as a one-way hash, saved searches and alerts).
- Professional registration details for partners — business name, profession, licence number and service areas, which we verify before a profile goes live.
- Usage information collected first-party only: pages viewed, calculator use, how you arrived (e.g. search engine or campaign link) and a random anonymous identifier stored in your browser. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we never put personal details in these analytics.
- Voice input, if you choose to use the site guide's microphone, is processed by your browser's built-in speech service and is not stored by us.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, to make an introduction to a licence-verified professional only with your consent, to send alerts you have asked for, and to operate and improve the site. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
With the specific professional you agree to be introduced to; and with the service providers who run our infrastructure (website hosting and transactional email), who may store data on servers overseas (including Singapore and the United States). We require providers to protect your information; we disclose it to no one else unless the law requires.
Security, access and deletion
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted. You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you — email info@betterwayloan.com and we will respond promptly.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies: a session cookie if you log in, and anonymous identifiers that help us understand which pages and channels are useful. No cross-site tracking.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will work to resolve it. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
